Packaging.
Metal rich packaging (food and beverage cans particularly) can be recycled. The metal rich packaging is shredded, washed and separated into various metals- ferrous and aluminium particularly. Several of the Müller-Guttenbrunn companies including Metfer Trading collect and recycle several types of packaging.
Slags.
Slags from incineration plants contain some metals which today can be recovered for further recycling. Metfer sources pre-processed slags for further treatment in the specialized Austrian subsidiary Metran.
Wood.
Wooden packaging and wooden demolition wastes are shredded to recover the metals contained in the wood.
Paper and Carton.
Several of the Müller Guttenbrunn companies also collect and treat paper and carton from numerous sources.
Plastics.
Plastic recycling from durable goods is complex for a number of reasons. Within the Müller-Guttenbrunn Group a wide experience and knowledge of recycling technical plastics – especially from E-Waste – has been acquired. METFER Trading therefore sources these plastics as input for the groups’ competence center MBA Polymers in Austria.
